– HOW TO CREATE AN OUTDOOR OASIS –
Spring has sprung which means we’ll all be spending more time outdoors! If you don’t have an enjoyable outdoor space at your home, here’s how you can achieve your own outdoor oasis.
Choosing the right furniture and accessories for your outdoor space
Selecting the right furniture and accessories is crucial in transforming your outdoor space into a serene oasis. When choosing outdoor furniture, consider both comfort and durability. In addition to furniture, the selection of accessories can greatly enhance the aesthetics of your outdoor space. Incorporate elements like outdoor rugs, throw pillows, and decorative lanterns to add a touch of style and personality.
When choosing accessories, consider the overall theme or style you want to achieve. For a modern and minimalist look, opt for sleek and streamlined designs. If you prefer a more rustic or bohemian feel, choose accessories with natural materials and textures.
Incorporating plants, flowers, and greenery into your outdoor design
Integrating plants and greenery into your outdoor design is essential in creating a serene oasis. Plants not only add beauty and freshness but also contribute to a sense of tranquility. When selecting plants, consider the climate and sunlight conditions of your outdoor space. Choose plants that thrive in your specific environment to ensure their health and longevity.
Consider incorporating vertical gardens or hanging planters. These options are particularly useful if you have limited space. Vertical gardens can be created using trellises, wall-mounted planters, or even repurposed pallets. Hanging planters can be suspended from pergolas, tree branches, or even ceiling hooks. These vertical elements not only maximize space but also create a stunning visual impact.
Utilizing lighting techniques for creating a serene atmosphere in your outdoor space
Lighting not only enhances the aesthetics but also sets the mood and ambiance of a space. Start by considering the different areas of your outdoor space that require lighting. Divide your outdoor space into zones such as seating areas, pathways, and focal points.
For seating areas, incorporate soft and warm lighting to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Consider using string lights, lanterns, or wall-mounted sconces. Pathway lighting is important for both safety and aesthetics. Use low-voltage landscape lighting to illuminate walkways and stairs.
Adding water features to enhance the tranquility of your outdoor oasis
Water features can greatly enhance the tranquility of your outdoor oasis. The sound of flowing water has a calming effect and can drown out background noise, creating a peaceful environment. There are various options when it comes to incorporating water features into your outdoor space.
A popular choice is a fountain. Another option is a pond or a water garden. If space is limited, consider a wall-mounted or a tabletop water feature. These compact water features can be easily incorporated into any outdoor design and provide the same soothing effect. The sight and sound of water flowing down a wall or cascading over rocks can create a serene focal point.
– SUPERBLOOM IS BACK – HOW TO BEST PREPARE FOR A VISIT –
Agent Contribution: Catherine Stephens, L34 Group Operations Manager
Following a wetter-than-average winter, our Californian deserts are starting to erupt in wildflower blooms, a palette of colors brightening the normally sandy-brown landscape. What exactly is a Superbloom? It’s when large quantities of spring wildflowers bloom at the same time, covering the desert ground for miles. This level of bloom is a relatively rare occurrence, since multiple factors have to line up for so many flowers to bloom at the same time, in typically dry areas.
When does the Wild Flower Hotline start up? (Yes! Such a thing exists!) Well, Theodore Payne Foundation’s Wild Flower Hotline resumed on March 8th, and has updates available every Friday into June; A network of Botanists report their wildflower sightings in Southern and Central California every week, a script is written, and then narrated by an Emmy Award-winning actor! You can access the info as a phone message by dialing (818) 768-1802 ext. 7 … And, how to best view the bloom, without causing another ‘Poppy Apocalypse’?!? State Parks officials ask that those visiting stay on designated trails and refrain from picking the wildflowers, as doing so can prevent them from producing seeds. “Keep the Beauty in the Bloom!” – Take photos, not flowers 😉
Click here to view a list of the best places to see Southern California wildflowers right now! Currently, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is experiencing vast blooms, and the park has an interactive map with lots of valuable info, so you can plan your visit accordingly.
Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve in the Mojave Desert is also starting to see some sporadic but notable poppy blooms. If the weather remains mild, blooms there are expected to be even better than last year’s, according to California State Parks!! You can also take a gander ahead of time on the Reserve’s LIVE PoppyCam.
– LOVE WORDS –
We love our clients and they love us….
❝My fiancé and I worked with L34 to buy our first home together and worked primarily with Fawn – though we also briefly worked with Shannon. Both were lovely to work with and were very patient and approachable throughout the home buying process. We love our new home and I can confidently say that, without Fawn’s help, we would have lacked the credibility and insight needed to make a competitive offer. Fawn also helped me sell my starter home, a one-bedroom house with no parking. Despite some unexpected hiccups during the home-selling process (the first potential buyer was unable to finalize their loan and had to cancel), Fawn helped me find another buyer that ended up being the right fit for the property. Simply put, I wholeheartedly recommend L34 to anyone looking to sell or purchase a home in NELA.❞
