– The Art of Layering: Adding Depth and Texture to Your Home This Fall –
– Maintaining Mental Health as the Seasons Change –
Agent Contribution: Catherine Stephens, L34 Group Operations Manager
I don’t know about you, but for me, when the kids are back at school, the store aisles are already stocked with Halloween candy, and I’m still parting ways with the last remnants of a Summer tan, my thoughts turn nostalgic… and that can get me a bit down in the dumps, combined with the external pressures we all feel no matter what our industry, neighborhood, or living situation is!
The good news is that there are so many enjoyable and accessible ways to help beat the blues, and keep our stamina and emotions high during stressful times. Keeping a healthy work-life-self balance can be a challenge, so it can be helpful to actually schedule time as you would any other appointment or meeting – any other vital, not-easily-cancelable appointment, that is! Making the time to heighten awareness of the affect that all the components of our lives have on us.
This is a beautiful article that explains the significance of the actual Seasons on our moods, energy levels, and more.
I stumbled upon this list of these “simple and proven strategies“ will help you manage stress and find meaning” in the NYT – It was first published at the start of the year (Hello, New Year’s Resolutions are once again right around the corner!), and it’s a great Go-To as a reminder of ways to keep our thinking on a healthy plane.
Don’t forget, you are not alone! There are resources that can be of help.
– TONIGHT: GALLERY ART NIGHT AT L34 GROUP’S NEW OFFICE! –
Our Gallery Art Night is TONIGHT from 6pm-9pm, featuring Lena Rudnick.
Los Angeles-based visual and multimedia artist and filmmaker, Lena Rudnick received a B.A. in media and theater design from Pitzer College and an MFA in film directing from Columbia University. Her camera-less photo series was recently featured in the acclaimed literary and visual art journal Cobra Milk and her work is currently on view at The Lightbox Gallery in Astoria as part of the Analog Forever show. Whether through digital manipulation or physically hand-dying photo paper, Rudnick delves into experimental techniques to convey internal emotional states. Her films have been showcased at prestigious venues such as National Sawdust, Lincoln Center, the Miami International Film Festival, the New York International Latino Film Festival, and on PBS. Her photographs have been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and the LA Times. Notably, she was once commissioned to photograph Bono. Yes, that Bono.
Pinpointing specific moments of time and place, Lena Rudnick explores how memories blur and blend, colored by our emotions and shaped by the passage of time. Long exposures create striking striations of light and color through her lens as she delicately manipulates her camera by hand to create painterly dreamscapes that transcend nature, inviting viewers into her surreal emotional world. These tender abstract ethereal landscapes embody a profound collaboration between the artist and the natural world as she transforms moments into visual poetry. While the photos are constructed entirely in-camera, the artist closely shapes her work in the digital dark room, highlighting the interplay between painting and photography in her playfully impressionistic images.
– LOVE NOTES –
We love our clients, and they love us…
❝From the moment I met Deirdre and Terry of L34, I had a feeling my family and home would be in good hands for our next big life transition. Our home was in pretty good shape but needed a lot of vision, and clean up in the half acre yard and garage – both feats we’d been putting off for years because they felt too overwhelming to tackle. But I felt confident we’d sell our house because Deirdre and Terry seemed like they’d seen it all – and they have! They had the expertise and the right team of repairmen, painters, stagers, landscapers, and photographers to get the house ready – which put me at ease. Their colleague Catherine provided a timeline of the project so I knew when we’d be in each phase of getting the house ready. The team was organized and confident and highly experienced with the market and managing escrow, which went smoothly. Our house yielded ~350K over asking, by the way. I felt like I had people looking out for my best interest and who genuinely cared about launching my family into our next life chapter. Could not be happier I went with this team! ❞
