– YOUR GUIDE TO SEQUOIA –
Agent Contribution: Stephen McAlpin, L34 Group Partner Agent
As the New Year approaches, it’s the perfect time to start dreaming about your next adventures, and California offers some incredible national parks that are worth exploring. Recently, my family and I visited Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, which is just about a three and a half hours drive from Northeast Los Angeles, and I wanted to share a quick guide to visiting and some of my favorite spots from our trip with the hopes of inspiring you to check it out.
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are two national parks that are connected to one another, featuring “huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns, and the world’s largest trees” – ancient, giant sequoias such as the General Sherman and General Grant – according to the parks website. Activities you can engage in include camping, hiking, fishing, exploring caves, rock climbing, horseback riding, and more.
MORO ROCK. A highlight of Sequoia is the geological formation known as Moro Rock, which provides a carved trail up the rock with 400 steps, rewarding hikers with amazing, panoramic views of both parks from a platform area at the peak.
WATERFALL HIKES are options for the more ambitious hikers. Our family explored Tokopah Falls, which was about 3 miles each way. The path provided beautiful scenery that changed along the way and was relatively easy until getting to the Falls, which were iced over at the time since we visited in the wintertime.
IN KINGS CANYON, a main stop is certainly Grant’s Grove, where you can visit attractions such as the General Grant sequoia as well as a historic cabin from when the park originated.
OTHER CA PARKS: With a national parks pass like I was graciously gifted from Terry during our Secret Santa holiday party, you can visit any national park for free! CA is home to nine, offering plenty of adventure opportunities in 2024; Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Lassen Volcanic, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, Redwoods, Channel Islands, and Pinnacles.
– LOVE WORDS –
We love our clients and they love us….
❝If there was a sixth star to give here, L34 would deserve it. I’m smart at my day job but pretty ignorant when it comes to the housing market (especially the LA housing market), and Shannon and the rest of the team took the time to guide us through every step–loans, inspections, tours, putting in offers, paperwork, escrow, and (finally) closing on a house we love and selling the house we’d outgrown. It feels kind of weird to be gushing about a real estate group, but I have to give credit where credit is due. I am so happy in my new house, and L34 made it happen!❞
