It’s the spooky season once again and Los Angeles never seems to disappoint. After all, this is a city built on entertainment, so did you really expect us to skim on the one holiday based solely around having a fantastic costume? No matter your age (in number of years or at heart), there is sure to be something that will stir the spirits in you.

Eastside Trick or Treating
Gone are the days when you would trick or treat on your block.  Now it’s a destination thing. Luckily there are many great destinations where residents go all out with decorations, festivities, and most importantly, CANDY!  Here are some of our faves:

Eagle Rock
Head on up to Hill Drive, just north of Colorado in Eagle Rock for one of the craziest streets in LA to trick or treat. There are literal traffic jams of pedestrians, but it’s well worth it as neighbors go all out with decorations and treats.

Angelino Heights
Head over to Carroll avenue and Douglas streets in Angelino Heights for a spooktacular time. Angelino Heights is one of Los Angeles’ oldest neighborhoods and the beautiful Victorian homes give it an extra Halloween-like scene.  Who knows, you might run into a Victorian spirit waiting to haunt its next victim!

Pasadena
Orange Heights in Pasadena (roughly Los Robles and Mountain) does it up for Halloween.  Usually the streets are blocked off so that parents don’t need to worry about little ones running out in front of a car.  Plenty of candy and lots of spooky decorations to be had.

Los Feliz
In the Franklin Hills, there’s a rocking good time with music, dance parties, and sometimes haunted houses. It’s a tiny bit hilly, so you do double duty by entertaining the kids and making sure they are well worn out for bedtime.

Other Halloween Events
Kids aren’t the only ones who get to have fun on Halloween, our four-legged friends certainly don’t want to miss out.  Dress your pup up in their scariest costume and head over to Angel City Brewing’s Howl-O-Ween. Oh, and they even have a dog/owner costume contest…..bust out your best Sonny and Cher? Or maybe Doc and Marty McFly?
